Being A Breatharian

I remember reading about a community of breatharians in a new age bible of a book in the 80's. Breatharians are folks who are able to sustain themselves off sunlight and air alone. And I remember being amazed by it.

The information was found in one of those hippy cult classics called Survival Into The 21st Century by Victoras Kulvinskas that no self-respecting member of the leather-thong and muesli-munching brigade would dream of being without! And the book was packed with info on alternative and natural nutrition and healthier ways to live. All presented in a fun and upbeat manner.

Maybe we're being asked in this final cycle on earth for a load of reasons to revisit that as a possible alternative to sustaining ourselves. Well, in this country anyway, where it's become a privilege to eat anything at all daily. And the majority of our people in this city - in an area with exceedingly high unemployment - go on average 9 or 10 days without eating a proper meal! This research was only done recently and clearly demands an alternative.
In addition, we're dealing with a criminal supermarket cartel who ensure that prices on even basic foodstuffs increase all the time. So for numerous reasons this would be the 'natural' next step here. Then again, there's all sorts of prep and readiness on other levels to ensure the success of a committed breatharian lifestyle. That's likely to be the tough part for most.

This Man Has Lived Without Food For 5 Years -
He Say He Just Needs Sunlight And Air

4 July, 2013

MessageToEagle.com - Millions of people struggle with overweight and magazines are packed with advices from expert informing us how we can get a better and healthier figure. Companies earn billions on diet plans and weight loss tools.

So, it feels strange to hear this man, who describes himself as a "breatharian has lived without food for the last 5 years. Kirby de Lanerolle comes from Sri Lanka and he makes some astonishing claims.

Kirby says that he can extract calories from "photons and light and vibrations and wind". He admits he ate real food but he felt bad afterwards. He usually only eats his daily communion that consists of a small morsel of bread and red wine.

"I've had seven meals for the last 10 months," Kirby explained on the National Geographic Channel show, noting he keeps his meals to a total of 500 calories or less.

"In this consciousness, when I do eat food, it makes me feel very tired."

Five years ago Kriby decided to stop eating food. This was shortly after he heard about people who didn't eat for up to six years and didn't drink water for 40 days and 40 nights.

Soon, after reading a guru's writings he also became convinced that cancer, diabetes and heart disease are caused by food.

Kirby's goal is to teach others how they can become breatharians. One of the problems he is facing is fear.

People are concerned that this kind of diet leads to death. Kirby on the other hand is convinced that he can become immortal through being a breatharian and that it reverses aging.

Kiryb claims he can live on sunlight and air.

Kirby is known to Sri Lankans as the 'co-founder' of the much-loved warehouse project and recently gave a talk at a TEDxYouth event in Colombo where he revealed his "breatharian" philosophy. Kirby says that people naturally disbelieve and discredit anything that cannot be measured using the instruments of the time

He is also currently the only Breatharian in Sri Lanka.

Needless to say that his claims are extraordinary and the lack of evidence gives rise to the question if Kirby is really telling the world the truth.
